The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammed Gambo, has issued a stern warning to individuals encroaching on land designated for the party’s ongoing State Secretariat project.
During a scheduled site visit on Tuesday, Gambo expressed disappointment over the extent of trespassing and the apparent abandonment of the construction site.
He described the situation as “disheartening,” noting that a party which once held significant sway in Kogi State is still struggling to complete its headquarters.
Gambo assured party members and the public that, under his leadership, the secretariat project would be completed. He called on the state government to direct relevant authorities to take immediate action against illegal occupants and safeguard the site from further encroachment.
The PDP chairman stressed that the completion of the secretariat is crucial not only as a symbol of the party’s presence in the state but also as a hub for coordinating activities and engaging with members across Kogi.
He urged party loyalists to remain committed to the project and assured them that efforts to reclaim and secure the land would be pursued vigorously.
Gambo’s warning comes amid growing concern over land disputes and illegal occupation of properties earmarked for public or party projects in the state, highlighting the challenges political parties face in sustaining infrastructure development.
