A major outcome of the 46th Supreme Convention of The Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria, KSM, held in Kaduna over the weekend is the election of a new set of executives to pilot its affairs for the next four years. The twelve members Supreme Executive Board (SEB) is headed by the Supreme Knight Sir Steve Zakari Adehi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Knight Commander of St. Sylvester who is also the President of Papal Knights and Medalists in Nigeria.
Other members of the new Supreme Executive Board (SEB) populated by seasoned professionals include Sir Dan Egwu, Deputy Supreme Knight, Sir George Eze, Supreme Secretary, Sir Titus Olasupo Ashaolu, SAN, as Supreme Advocate, Sir Imo Ndaeyo, Supreme Chancellor, Sir Philip Okonkwo, Supreme Treasurer, Sir Richard Adidi, Supreme Financial Secretary, Sir Peter Okozi, Supreme Auditor, Sir Calistus Eneh, Supreme Physician, Sir Chinedu Enemuoh, Supreme Warden, Sir Chuddy Oduenyi, Supreme PRO/Editor and Sir Joseph Duniya, Supreme Assistant Secretary.
In the spirit of sportsmanship Sir Frank Odafen, first runner up in the election described the exercise as phenomenally hitch-free and a testament to the of prayer and the knowledge that KSM is firmly in God’s hands. He surmised that Adehi, the new Supreme Knight, is the man spiritually endorsed to take KSM to the next level at this time. This resounding triumph is a shining testament to Adehi’s unwavering commitment to faith, selfless service, and unrelenting pursuit of excellence. A luminary in the legal profession, Adehi brings a treasure trove of experience and wisdom to his new role. As a revered Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership acumen, earning him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Commander of the Knights of St. Sylvester and the presidency of the Association of Papal Knights and Medalists in Nigeria.
In his congratulatory message to “brand new SEB” the immediate past Supreme Knight Sir Dr. Charles Mbelede urged the new team to always “think together, plan together and work together for a constructive and forward moving SEB”. A past Supreme Knight of KSM Sir. Anthony Onuh congratulated the new SEB members on their well-deserved victory at the polls. He wished them very successful tour of duty and prayed for God to guide, protect and project KSM to a higher level.
Various Awards were conferred on several recipients. Notable among these were the then Deputy Supreme Knight Sir Emmanuel Onyejekwe and Noble President of the Ladies of Saint Mulumba (LSM) Lady Anthonia Ngozi Obah who were both conferred with Commander of Knights of St. Mulumba. Again, four eminent members, Sir Moses Braimah, Sir Patrick Ikemefuna, Sir Theo Osanakpo, SAN and Sir Steve Adehi, SAN, who were earlier conferred with Knight Commander by the Holy Father were also conferred with Commander of Knights of St. Mulumba (CKSM).
Other recipients were Sir Dan Egwu and Sir George Eze. Egwu was recognized for spearheading the KSM 70th Anniversary. The year long platinum celebration is reputed to be the most remarkable event in the annals of KSM. Eze, a prominent traditional ruler was celebrated for the effortless ease with which he attends to his kingly functions as well as the activities and demands of KSM, blending both most admirably
Founded on 14th June 1953, The Order of The Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria KSM has as its main aim and objective to bring Catholics together in fraternal association for the good and progress of the Church. It also strives to enhance the welfare and the well-being of Nigerians generally and of its members in particular. The Order also organises its members to participate in Catholic Action, to get involved in matters concerning the progress of the Church as well as of the State, to spearhead and promote various social services especially charitable works through its various service programmes.
