The Institute of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, has awarded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in Katsina state, Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim with three different certificates of excellence.
The certificates presented to the coordinator on Tuesday in Katsina were:Â Certified Human Resource Manager, membership certificate and a Senior Fellow of the institute.
Presenting the certificates, the Registrar of the institute, Mr Raphael Ayada, said the honour was given to him For his significant contributions to the NYSC.
The coordinator, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the institute and pledged to continue enhancing the welfare and security of corps members in the state.
Reiterating his commitment to continue to promote humanity, Ibrahim thanked the management of the institute for the gesture, vowing that it would spur him to do more.
Earlier, the Camp Director, Mr Obemeata Alex, highlighted the coordinator’s achievements in less than one year since he assumed office in the state.
He said the achievements included the establishment of a standard kitchen and the provision of nutritious meals for corps members, initiation of archival documentation, as well as a vegetable garden, among other things.
Alex, who is also the NYSC Public Relations Officer in the state, stated that Ibrahim, who is the 20th coordinator in the Katsina office, had performed very well within his short period.
He, therefore, urged other NYSC officials to continue to render all the necessary support to the coordinator so that the scheme would continue to excel.
