The Jigawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally endorsed the economic policy stance of presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar following his pledge to restore the petrol subsidy if elected.
The endorsement was announced during a press briefing held on Saturday at the ADC State Headquarters along Kano Road in Dutse, the state capital. Addressing journalists and party stakeholders, the Jigawa State ADC Spokesperson, Comrade Mukhtar Ibrahim, praised the policy direction, describing the complete removal of the fuel subsidy as a major factor driving widespread economic hardship, high inflation, and increased costs of living across the country.
”Our party stands firmly with policies that prioritize the economic well-being of the average citizen,” Ibrahim stated during the conference. “The proposal to reintroduce a structured fuel subsidy program is a necessary step toward stabilizing market prices, reducing transport costs, and alleviating the severe financial burden currently faced by households in Jigawa State and across Nigeria.”
Party executives present at the event reiterated their commitment to building strategic political coalitions ahead of the election season. They urged voters across northern Nigeria to consider economic recovery strategies and candidate platforms when making their decisions.
