The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for citizens who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Anambra State will take place from October 22 to October 26, 2025.
This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Commission’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, on Monday.
According to the statement, the exercise will be conducted at INEC’s Local Government Area offices across the state between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily, including weekends, to enable all eligible voters to collect their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Eta-Messi urged all registered voters, especially those who participated in the last CVR exercise, to take advantage of the window to collect their cards, noting that the PVC remains the only valid instrument for voting in Nigeria’s elections.
She assured that INEC had made adequate arrangements to ensure a smooth and transparent process, adding that the Commission was committed to deepening citizens’ participation in the electoral process through effective voter education and timely distribution of materials.
“The Commission appeals to all eligible voters to come forward and collect their PVCs, as no voter will be allowed to vote without it,” the statement added.
INEC also warned against extortion or any form of malpractice during the exercise, urging members of the public to report any irregularities to its offices or through official hotlines.
With this development, Anambra becomes one of the first states to begin PVC distribution following the conclusion of the recent nationwide CVR.
