The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned Nigerians to disregard a fraudulent recruitment link circulating online, describing it as fake and misleading.

In a notice posted on its official X platform on Saturday, the Commission distanced itself from a website being shared as “INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026,” stating that it neither authorised nor originated the link.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to inform the general public that the website currently circulating as ‘INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026’ is fake, misleading, and not authorised by the Commission,” the statement read.

INEC made it clear that it did not approve or originate the link being circulated, warning members of the public against engaging with the platform.

“The Commission did not approve or originate the following link: 🔗 https://tinyurl.com/INEC-Ad-hoc-Staff-Recruitment,” it added.

The electoral body further cautioned Nigerians against submitting sensitive personal information on the website, stressing that doing so could expose them to fraud and identity theft.

“Members of the public are strongly advised not to submit personal information on the said website,” the Commission noted.

INEC urged citizens to rely only on its official communication channels for authentic information regarding recruitment and other electoral matters.
