In a decisive move to combat the country’s persistent regional security challenges, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has officially deployed Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) directly to the various geopolitical zones to personally oversee security operations.
​The strategic deployment aims to decentralize the police command structure, bringing top-tier leadership closer to the frontlines of the nation’s most critical security hotspots.
​Under this new directive, the deployed DIGs will assume immediate responsibility for coordinating, monitoring, and executing tactical operations within their assigned zones.
By embedding the highest rank of police leadership directly into the regions, the Force Headquarters expects a more rapid, synchronized, and intelligence-driven response to threats such as banditry, kidnapping, and communal clashes.
