The Ayobo Youth Sport Association on Tuesday opened registration for the 2026 FASCO Cup, promising a bigger grassroots football spectacle in the Lagos suburb.

Tournament Coordinator, Oyetunji Suleimon, announced the registration during a media briefing in Ayobo, highlighting growing community and corporate backing.

Suleimon described the tournament as a platform for discovering young football talents and strengthening unity among youths across communities.

“We are determined to deliver our biggest competition yet in the Alimosho axis,” Suleimon said.

He said no fewer than 32 teams were expected, with participating clubs set to compete for major prizes.

“The eventual champions will go home with N1 million, alongside other rewards prepared for outstanding teams and players,” he said.

Suleimon acknowledged support from Kogbagidi Herbal Medicine and several political leaders who had continued backing youth sports development.

He singled out Lukman Agbaje, Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, for his commitment.

He also praised Faruk Adebayo, community leader in Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, for supporting the grassroots competition.

Corporate organisations supporting the competition include Fasco Bakery, Racelux Paints and Ayobo All Stars.

Suleimon said match venues and fixtures would be announced after the sale of registration forms closes.

“We want every team properly registered before unveiling the full competition schedule,” he added
