MUHAMMADU Buhari, immediate past President of Nigeria, died in London today.
Garba Shehu, the former spokesperson, announced his demise on Sunday in a post on X.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin,” Garba wrote.
Buhari was President of Nigeria from 29 May 2015 to 29 May 2023.
Vice President Kashim Shettima was officially dispatched to visit Buhari in London, where he was undergoing what Nigerians thought was a routine medical check-up.
Another former aide, Bashir Ahmad also announced the passing of the former president on X.
