A serious explosion occurred on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at a Nipco Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling station located in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, Nigeria. The incident took place while a car was being filled with CNG, resulting in a catastrophic blast that completely destroyed the rear end of the vehicle.
According to reports, a number of people were injured in the explosion, which caused significant damage to the car and surrounding areas. Eyewitnesses captured the shocking event on video, which later went viral on social media. The footage showed bystanders in distress, some of whom were tending to the wounded. At the time of this report, the victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Interestingly, two individuals, who were also injured in the blast, were seen walking around despite their wounds. Concerned onlookers urged them to seek medical attention immediately, as they were visibly struggling from the impact of the explosion.
