Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Obasa’s nomination was made by Hon. Noheem Adams of Eti-Osa Constituency 1 and seconded by Hon. Nureni Akinsanya of Mushin Constituency. The plenary session is currently ongoing at the assembly chambers.
His return comes amid a leadership crisis that began in January when 32 lawmakers removed him and ex-Clerk Olalekan Onafeko.
On Monday, March 3, Mojisola Meranda resigned as speaker. She was subsequently nominated and sworn in as the deputy speaker of the house.
