The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a major step toward consolidating its structure in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, officially received the report of the Oyo State APC Reconciliation Committee during a high-level stakeholder meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

The meeting convened at 11:00 AM, bringing together key party leaders, statutory delegates, former lawmakers, and major internal factions to chart a unified path forward following years of post-primary grievances and electoral setbacks in the state.

Presenting the document, members of the reconciliation committee highlighted that months of extensive consultations across all 33 local government areas yielded actionable recommendations aimed at harmonizing interest groups, ensuring transparent party primaries, and re-engaging aggrieved members.

Receiving the report, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda emphasized that a united Oyo State chapter is critical to the party’s national strategy for 2027. He assured stakeholders that the National Working Committee (NWC) would meticulously implement the committee’s findings without bias.

”Our presence here in Ibadan signifies our commitment to building an indivisible party. Oyo State remains a critical stronghold in the South-West, and we are determined to resolve every internal friction, align all interests, and present a formidable front long before the 2027 polls,” Yilwatda declared.

Speaking on behalf of the state executive, the Oyo State APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, addressed newsmen following the closed-door presentation. Sadare noted that the reception of the report marks the end of prolonged internal rancor within the chapter.

”The national leadership’s direct involvement has renewed the faith of our party faithful,” Sadare stated. “We are sending a clear signal that the Oyo APC is restructured, reconciled, and completely focused on victory across all elective positions in 2027.”

Representing the national executive delegation, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, reiterated the NWC’s mandate to foster peace across all state chapters. Morka highlighted that the party’s conflict-resolution mechanisms are active nationwide to prevent avoidable divisions ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.

The submission of the reconciliation report initiates a phased implementation plan expected to include joint stakeholder caucuses, ward-level integration meetings, and refreshed leadership structures across the senatorial districts of Oyo State. With the official handover completed, party stalwarts expressed optimism that the APC is now positioned to challenge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State come 2027.
