Mr Waheed Akintunde, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I, has pledged to create opportunities for young people and attract development projects to the constituency if elected.

Akintunde made the pledge in an interview in Lagos on Tuesday, saying his proposed representation would establish platforms where youths could develop their talents, acquire relevant skills and access opportunities for personal and economic advancement. He also said he would organise regular football competitions and other sporting activities to identify talented youths and connect them with potential investors.

The candidate said he would pursue initiatives aimed at attracting projects to communities within the constituency to stimulate economic activities and create employment. He also promised to work towards changing the perception of Oshodi, making it more attractive to legitimate businesses and investments, while facilitating projects addressing the infrastructure and socio-economic needs of residents.

Akintunde said vulnerable residents, including widows, older persons and people living with disabilities, would receive attention under his proposed representation. He also pledged to sponsor bills and move motions focused on issues affecting constituents and improving their welfare.

He urged residents and youths in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I to support initiatives focused on skills development, investment, employment and inclusive community development. Akintunde said his objective was to use legislative representation to attract opportunities and projects capable of improving the socio-economic wellbeing of constituents.
