The Abia State Government has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing prominent individuals from the South-East into key federal positions, describing the move as a demonstration of inclusivity and national unity.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ukoha Uka, following the announcement of the latest federal appointments.
Governor Alex Otti said the decision reflected the President’s commitment to giving all regions a fair stake in governance, adding that the inclusion of competent South-East professionals would strengthen the administration’s ability to deliver on its promises.
“We in Abia State appreciate the President for recognising the capacity and contributions of our people. These appointments will not only inspire hope in the South-East but also foster greater national cohesion,” the governor said.
Otti urged the newly appointed officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently and transparently in service to the nation.
He reiterated his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the federal government on programmes that would accelerate development in the region, particularly in infrastructure, commerce, and human capital development.
The statement also encouraged other leaders in the region to support the appointees and prioritise unity over political differences.
