Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command intercepted a commercial motorcycle along the Owode Apa Road corridor in Badagry, rescuing three young girls from a suspected human trafficking operation.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, confirmed the development in a statement released via his verified X account on Friday. He explained that routine patrol officers flagged down the motorcycle after identifying suspicious behavior.

On-site questioning by the patrol team confirmed that the three young passengers were victims being moved through a human trafficking scheme. Following their rescue, police officers immediately secured the young girls and conducted an initial debriefing to gather critical details regarding the syndicate.

Authorities have since launched an active manhunt to track down the facilitators, agents, and key operatives behind the movement. To ensure a thorough inquiry, the case has been officially handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, for specialised, discreet investigation.

Law enforcement agencies across the state remain on high alert along border corridors to dismantle active trafficking networks. The three rescued girls have been debriefed while authorities work to identify their origins, intended destination, and recruitments.
