In a dramatic shift within Nigeria’s political landscape, Alhaji Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a comprehensive strategy to mobilise support across all six geopolitical zones for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Speaking on Friday, October 30, 2026, during a press conference at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja, Abubakar, the founder and national chairman of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), outlined the group’s campaign framework following his formal defection to the governing party.
The cornerstone of the HBTO strategy is an upcoming two-million-man political march across the country, scheduled to launch in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) before fanning out nationwide.
To combine political outreach with social impact, Abubakar introduced a community transport support project featuring an initial fleet of 10 luxury buses designed to ease daily commuting for citizens while boosting campaign mobility.
Strategically, the organisation is aligning its regional operations with key political figures. Abubakar noted that HBTO’s immediate priority is collaborating with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to ensure APC victories in both the FCT and Rivers State. Activations in Rivers State are slated to begin early next month, supported by community-level structures.
Additionally, Abubakar vowed to mount a focused campaign in his home state of Adamawa, traditionally the political stronghold of his father, to deliver the state for President Tinubu in 2027.
Defending his political trajectory, Abubakar declared that genuine democratic participation allows citizens to choose alignment based on conviction rather than family lineage.
Supporting this sentiment, HBTO Kano State Coordinator Mubarak Musa confirmed that the group’s zonal leadership structures are fully activated to carry out grassroots activities leading up to the election cycle.
