The Labour Party (LP) has called on the Nigerian electorate to replicate the political trajectory of South America’s largest democracy by voting its candidates into office across all executive and legislative tiers in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The appeal was issued in a press statement released on Friday afternoon, October 30, 2026, from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa.

Congratulating Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his recent political milestone, the LP highlighted ideological parallels between both nations, emphasizing a shared commitment to social democracy designed to prioritize public welfare, economic inclusion, and social equity.

”The Brazilian experience has demonstrated the power of the people to shape their political destiny through the ballot,” Asogwa noted. “The same is possible in Nigeria, because People Power is greater than political power.”

Pointing to internal governance benchmarks, the spokesperson cited the administration of Governor Alex Otti in Abia State as empirical proof of the party’s capacity to deliver developmental outcomes aligned with citizens’ aspirations.

As political momentum builds ahead of the 2027 polls, the Labour Party urged citizens to stay resolute, asserting that a Labour-led administration at the federal and state levels would transform Nigeria’s socioeconomic landscape through people-centered governance.
