The Action Peoples Party (app) has won 22 of the 23 chairmanship positions up for grabs in the Rivers State local government election conducted throughput the State today, Saturday, October 5, by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Chief Election Officer, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, announced the result in Port Harcourt, the State capital.
Enebeli, while declaring the results, disclosed that the declaration of the result for Etche Local Government Area had to be put on hold to enable the electoral officers to properly tally the votes, stating that the results for Etche LGA and those of the 319 councillorship seats contested for in today’s elections will be declared at a later date.
