The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially opened its recruitment portal for the 2026 exercise, inviting eligible and qualified Nigerian citizens to submit applications for positions across four operational and professional cadres.
The announcement was formally made by the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, who confirmed that the official recruitment portal is now live and accepting submissions.
Speaking at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Abuja, Oyewale stressed the commission’s commitment to a transparent selection process and cautioned prospective applicants against fraudulent schemes.
”The recruitment exercise across all four cadres is completely free of charge,” Oyewale stated. “Applicants are strongly advised to beware of fraudsters, fake recruitment websites, or unauthorized agents claiming to facilitate employment. All valid applications must be processed strictly through our official portal.”
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online through the dedicated portal at recruitment.efcc.gov.ng on or before the closing deadline of Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Following the initial online phase, shortlisted applicants will undergo physical screening and aptitude tests at designated selection venues situated across the Commission’s Zonal Commands nationwide, including key centers in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, and Ibadan.
The 2026 recruitment drive spans four distinct entry cadres tailored to varying levels of qualification and experience. The Detective Superintendent cadre, designated at Grade Level 08, is open to candidates aged between 18 and 30 years who hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma alongside a valid National Youth Service Corps discharge or exemption certificate.
For the Detective Inspector cadre at Grade Level 06, applicants must be between 18 and 27 years old and possess a National Diploma or National Certificate in Education.
The entry-level operational role, the Detective Assistant cadre at Grade Level 04, targets individuals aged 18 to 25 who hold a minimum of five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.
In addition to operational detective roles, the Commission is recruiting professionals and skilled workers across various grade levels for candidates aged 18 to 40 years.
This category seeks qualified personnel in specialised fields such as Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Information Technology and Cybersecurity, Financial Analysis, Media and Public Relations, Human Resources, Administration, Library Science, and professional driving.
To qualify for consideration, all applicants must be Nigerian citizens possessing a valid National Identification Number and a medical certificate of fitness from a government-approved hospital.
Candidates applying for cadet positions must be single, stand at a minimum height of 1.67 meters for males and 1.64 meters for females, maintain a clean criminal record, and have no tattoos on any part of their body.
Successful online applicants are expected to complete their profile setup, upload clear scanned copies of required credentials under 250 kilobytes each, and print out their confirmation slips immediately upon submission.
