The European Investment Bank (EIB) has committed over €100 million in direct venture capital and investment funding through the Boost Africa project ahead of its scheduled delegation team assembly on Monday, October 26, 2026.
The Boost Africa Project Team, convening in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning (FMBEP), will gather key stakeholders at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, to showcase the initiative’s milestones alongside the broader 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit.
A joint flagship initiative between the European Investment Bank and the African Development Bank (AfDB), with strong backing from the European Union, Boost Africa provides critical equity, venture capital, and targeted technical assistance to high-growth African enterprises, particularly those spearheaded by young entrepreneurs and women.
The programme’s broader mandate aims to leverage development finance to crowd in private capital, targeting a total investment mobilization of €1 billion across the continent to unlock sustainable job creation and foster innovation.
The upcoming sessions in Abuja will feature direct engagements among investment fund managers, beneficiary startup founders, senior Nigerian government officials, and European development finance leaders.
Participants will examine achievements and lessons learned from the deployment of over €100 million in commitments, while outlining strategies to expand venture capital ecosystems, enhance technical advisory support, and deepen early-stage financing for Nigerian enterprises.
Alongside the venture capital showcase, the event will highlight broader integrated investment programs spanning trade infrastructure, productive growth, and logistics facilities.
High-level panel discussions will analyze regulatory requirements, project preparation, and prospective commercial ventures aimed at driving youth employment and supporting Nigeria’s ambition under the National Development Plan (2026–2030) to build a $1 trillion economy.
