The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Oredo Federal Constituency, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, has strongly condemned the recent vandalisation of the campaign office belonging to his opponent, Hon. Uyi Omosigho of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP/NDC).

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, October 2, 2026, at the campaign headquarters in Benin City, left several campaign structures, banners, and office assets damaged by unidentified perpetrators.

Reacting to the incident through an official press statement released in Benin City on Saturday, October 3, 2026, Dr. Iyamu denounced political violence, describing the act as antithetical to democratic values and the peaceful coexistence of the Oredo electorate.

Speaking on behalf of the campaign organization, the Media Director of the DP Media Team, Comrade Osahon Omosefe, emphasized that politics should be a battle of ideas rather than destruction and physical intimidation.

”Please do not destroy or vandalise the property of anyone,” Iyamu stated. “The best way to show your love and support for me is not by pulling others down, but by standing firm for what we believe in and expressing it peacefully on the ballot. Let us keep this campaign clean, decent, issue-based, and worthy of our people.”

Dr. Iyamu called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the attack, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure that the law takes its full course. He further appealed to his supporters and the general public in Oredo Federal Constituency to maintain calm, avoid any form of reprisal, and continue to champion peace as the electoral campaign progresses.
