The Naval Headquarters has officially announced the commencement of the recruitment exercise for the 2026 Batch 39 Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).

Qualified Nigerian citizens seeking careers as ratings across technical and non-technical cadres are invited to submit their applications online starting October 2, 2026, with the portal set to close on October 31, 2026.

According to official statements from Naval Headquarters in Abuja, the recruitment portal will open at 00:01 hours on Friday, October 2, 2026, and automatically deactivate at midnight on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Interested candidates must complete their registrations exclusively through the official service portal: www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, the Director of Naval Information, Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, emphasised that the entire recruitment process is 100% free of charge. He sternly warned prospective applicants against dealing with fraudsters or third-party agents who claim to offer paid assistance.

”The recruitment exercise is entirely free. Applicants are strongly advised not to pay money to anyone under any guise. Anyone offering to assist in exchange for financial inducement is a fraudster,” Captain Folorunsho stated during the announcement at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.

Following the closure of the portal on October 31, shortlisted candidates will be invited for physical screening and Computer-Based Tests (CBT) across designated state screening centers nationwide.

Invited candidates will be required to present printed application slips, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, local government identification certificates, and original academic credentials at their respective state examination centers.

Candidates who successfully navigate the multi-stage nationwide screening process will report for rigorous military training at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) in Onne, Rivers State.

Naval Headquarters concluded with a stern warning that presenting forged credentials or attempting multiple entries will result in immediate disqualification and transfer to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.
