TAU Founder Commends Kwara Governor on The New Teaching Hospital in Omuaran

Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbduRazaq, CON, has been commended for establishing a teaching hospital in Kwara South Senatorial District. The teaching hospital, Thomas Adewumi University Teaching hospital, Omuaran , serves the seven local govenments in the district.
The Founder & Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko-Irese Kwara State, Engr. Dr. Johnson Bamidele Adewumi made the commendationat at a dinner TAU hosted in Ilorin for its stakeholders and friends. Dr. Adewumi, who doubles as Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Malete, said TATH would stop the need for Kwara South residents to go to Ilorin or neighboring states before getting upgraded treatment.
He told the stakeholders that TAU and the State Government are collaborating to provide a standard teaching Hospital in Omuaran. Dr. Adewumi praised some institutions and individuals for their support for TAU.
They indude the State Government, the University of Ilorin, the Kwara State Ministry of Health, The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board and the Board and Management of TAU led by Prof. Victor Olanrewaju (Board Chairman) and Prof. Francisca Oladipo (vice Chancellor) respectively.
Reflecting on the establishment of TAU, the Chancellor spoke about sacrifices made by the stakeholders to get to where the institution is today as a citadel of knowledge and excellence. “Many people thought we are going to fail but to God be the glory, it’s a success. And to the stakeholders he added; “This dinner is just to say I am very grateful to all of you”.
Shareholders who spoke at the dinner applauded Dr. Adewumi’s sterling leadership quality and his strong commitment to humanity. He is The icon of our time in Kwara South who has championed critical issues like; security, education and economic development.
He said Alh. Raheem Adedoyin Kwara former Commissioner for Information. Dr. Abdulraheem Malik the Executive Secretary of Kwara State Hospital Management Board launded the establishment of TATH, adding that; he would like to be a part of this success of the teaching hospital.
Dr. Malik disclosed that TATH would benefit from the digitalisation of the hospitals in Kwara State. The programme, which has been approved by the Governor would start with medical records. The Chief Medical Director of TATH, Omuaran, Prof. Ademola Alabi Popoola disclosed that the hospital has taken off as he commended the Kwara State Government and TAU founder for their ongoing investment on the hospital upgrage.
Those who attended the dinner from the academic community, the heath sector and community service arena included Prof. Victor Olarewaju (Pro-Chancellor, TAU); Mr Fisoye Kolawole (Registrar, TAU); Mrs Racheal Afolabi (Busar, TAU); Prof Popoola Chief Medical Dirrctor, Thomas Adewumi University Teaching Hospital, TAUTH, Omuaran; Prof. Afolayan (Professor of Nursing Science, University of Ilorin and visiting Lecturer at TAU and Prof. Olusegun Elegbede Deputy Provost, College of Medicine , TAU.
Others were Dr. S. Akinwale (Head of Physiotherapy, TAU); Dr Godwin Adunmo (Visiting Lecturer at TAU); Dr Samuel Farohunbi (Director, Career Centre ) ; Dr Ajibola (Director Academic Planning); Mrs Abimbola Oni Registry; Mr Olalekan Lawal (Ilorin Liasion Office) ; Mr Ayotunde (Registry) and Mr Akeem ( Chancellor’s office).
