The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kano State Command, says it saved property worth N5.34 billion from three fire incidents recorded in the state in August.

The Kano State Controller, Sadiq Usman-Mahmud, said this in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Al-Hassan Kantin, on Tuesday in Kano.

Usman-Mahmud said no lives were lost in the incidents, although property worth N1.26 billion was destroyed by fire during the period.

According to him, the command did not receive any false alarm or emergency calls from residents of the state during the month.

“The service did not receive any false alarm, and there were no emergency calls from residents of the state”.

The controller appealed to residents to exercise caution when handling fire and ensure that electrical appliances were switched off before leaving their homes to prevent fire outbreaks.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property.
