Rangers Int’l snatch late 1-1 draw against Katsina United in NPFL

Rangers International of Enugu forced a 1-1 draw with Katsina United in a Nigeria Premier Football League fixture played at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, on Sunday.
Katsina United took the lead in the 35th minute through Luis Dadong and appeared set to secure maximum points before Rangers mounted a late fightback.
Rangers were rewarded in the 97th minute when Chibueze Oputa converted a free kick taken from the centre of the field after an error by the Katsina United goalkeeper.
The late equaliser sparked excitement among the spectators as Rangers rescued a point from the encounter in a dramatic fashion.
Katsina United had defended its advantage for most of the match but failed to hold on until the final whistle.
The result saw both teams share the points after a closely contested encounter at the Enugu Rangers new home ground, Abeokuta.
Rangers will now look ahead to their next NPFL fixture as they continue their campaign as the defending champion of the NPFL.
