​Zaune conveyed his decision in an official resignation letter dated August 5, 2026, addressed directly to the ADC Ward Chairman in Zaune Ward, Dukku Local Government Area.
In the resignation letter released on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Zaune expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the opportunity to serve across various levels of the party structure: ​”I sincerely appreciate the political party for the opportunity to serve in different capacities ranging from the Local Government, State and National levels respectively.
