The Presidency has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu has done enough to secure re-election in the 2027 general election, saying his administration’s achievements over the past three and a half years have earned him another term in office.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman, stated this during an inspection tour of federal and Kogi State government projects organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team in Kogi State.
Rahman said the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration had freed up resources for state governments, enabling them to embark on impactful infrastructure and social development projects.
According to him, the visible projects executed across Kogi State demonstrate the positive impact of the Federal Government’s economic reforms.
“I think the President has done so well to deserve a second term, and I think his achievements will speak for him to be able to get re-elected in 2027,” Rahman said.
He also commended Kogi State Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for what he described as the prudent deployment of increased resources into healthcare, road infrastructure, education and other development projects across the state.
Rahman noted that similar interventions by Ododo and other governors, particularly those of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had been made possible by the Tinubu administration’s reforms.
“The reforms have freed resources to the sub-nationals and that’s why you have projects here,” he added.
Also speaking during the tour, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said the state government’s investment in model science secondary schools was aimed at reversing the trend of parents moving their children to private schools.
Fanwo said the upgraded public schools now offer facilities that rival or surpass many private institutions, while enhanced security measures had been introduced to protect students and staff.
He added that education and healthcare remain major priorities of the Ododo administration, with investments extending to primary healthcare centres, health insurance and free medical care for pregnant women and children aged between zero and six years.
The inspection team also visited Kogi State University, Kabba, Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, major road projects, erosion control sites and upgraded healthcare facilities across the state, where government officials highlighted ongoing infrastructure development and improvements in public service delivery.
