​Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has praised the Nigerian Army’s relentless efforts in combating pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering, noting that the operations are yielding positive results for the region.
​Governor Fubara gave the commendation on Friday during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
​During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the critical role the military plays in stabilizing the economic mainstay of the nation by securing vital oil infrastructure. He noted that the scaled-up operations against economic saboteurs have significantly curbed illegal refining activities in Rivers State.
Governor Fubara reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in protecting national assets. The Governor urged sustained synergy between the state government, host communities, and the military to completely eradicate crude oil theft.
Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu assured the Governor of the military’s unwavering dedication to restoring total sanity to the oil-producing communities and boosting national oil production.
​Governor Fubara concluded by reassuring the Army Chief that Rivers State remains a partner in progress, promising continued logistics and morale support for troops deployed across the state.
