“Today, in the company of our presidential candidate His Excellency Peter Obi, CON, the National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee and other leaders of the NDC, I attended the Service of Songs for our departed brother, Solomon Egwuaba, the elder brother of the National Legal Adviser of the NDC, Barrister Reuben Egwuaba.

“I conveyed the condolences of my family and I, and that of the NDC to the immediate family of Solomon Egwuaba, the entire Egwuaba family, the Ibaji community, his friends and well-wishers, and everyone affected by this painful loss. I also particularly condoled with Barrister Reuben Egwuaba, and appreciated the leadership and members of the NDC for standing with the family at this difficult time.

“Listening to the tributes and testimonies shared about our departed brother, I have no doubt that they reflected the kind of man he was; a decent, cheerful and admirable man who remained positive despite the challenges he faced.

“I reflected on his battle with illness and spoke about the burdens such situations place not only on the individual but also on the entire family. Having personally experienced the pain of losing my mother to cancer, I understand the emotional and physical toll such battles take on everyone involved.

“I remarked that despite his condition, our departed brother remained interested in the affairs of our country and continued to identify with and encourage our efforts in the NDC. Even in difficult circumstances, he remained cheerful, appreciative and full of positivity.

“At the age of 57, his passing reminds us of the fragility of life and of dreams and aspirations cut short. Yet we remain comforted by our faith in God, who alone gives and takes life according to His will.

“I prayed that Almighty God would comfort the family, strengthen them and perfect all that our departed brother left behind.

” I also thanked our presidential candidate, the National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee of the NDC for their show of solidarity and brotherliness. In the NDC, we are not only building a political party; we are also building a family founded on unity, brotherliness, and shared purpose.

“May the soul of our departed brother, Solomon Egwuaba, rest in perfect peace.”
