Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has terminated the appointment of his Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Mr. Oloyin Abdullateef, following a public dispute over the state’s 2027 gubernatorial succession.

The dismissal comes weeks after Abdullateef openly criticized alleged political maneuvers within the administration. The former aide warned against attempts to “impose” a political successor ahead of the next election cycle, specifically targeting rumored plans to position the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, as Governor AbdulRazaq’s preferred candidate.

Abdullateef released a controversial public statement cautioning leadership against handpicking a successor for the 2027 governorship race.

The former PPS publicly opposed moves aimed at positioning Assembly Speaker Salihu Yakubu Danladi for the state’s top job.

Governor AbdulRazaq responded to the public breach of internal discipline by officially removing Abdullateef from his cabinet position.

Government House sources indicate that the administration viewed the public outburst as a violation of official protocol and an unnecessary escalation of premature transition politics. Neither the Governor’s office nor the former PPS has released further official commentary on the restructuring.
