The Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Mr Blessing Agbebaku, has approved the sponsorship of 50 nursing admission application forms for qualified indigent candidates from Owan West Local Government Area.
Agbebaku announced the initiative in a statement issued on Friday in Benin, saying applications had opened for the 2026/2027 nursing admission exercise for eligible candidates from the local government area.
He urged interested applicants to take advantage of the opportunity, describing education as the greatest investment in the future and a key driver of community development.
According to him, the sponsorship is aimed at removing financial barriers and enabling more young people to acquire professional training and build careers in the healthcare sector.
The Speaker also reaffirmed his commitment to investing in programmes that empower youths, expand access to educational opportunities and promote sustainable socio-economic development across Owan West.
He advised prospective applicants to follow the official application guidelines to benefit from the sponsorship programme.
