As Nigerians marked the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency, Dr. Abdullahi Ahmed, has described Governor Uba Sani as a living symbol of the democratic ideals represented by the historic June 12 struggle, praising his commitment to justice, accountability, transparency, inclusion and people-oriented governance.
In a statement issued on Friday to commemorate Democracy Day, Ahmed said Governor Uba Sani’s political journey from a pro-democracy activist to the governor of Kaduna State serves as a powerful reminder of the values that inspired the fight for democratic rule in Nigeria.
According to him, June 12 remains one of the most significant milestones in the nation’s history, symbolising the sacrifices made by countless Nigerians who stood against oppression and demanded constitutional governance, civil liberties and respect for fundamental human rights.
Ahmed noted that the annual celebration provides an opportunity for citizens and leaders alike to reflect on the progress made in Nigeria’s democratic journey while recommitting themselves to the principles of good governance and public service.
He stated that Governor Uba Sani’s leadership style mirrors the aspirations of those who championed democracy during one of the most turbulent periods in the country’s political history.
“Governor Uba Sani’s leadership reflects the true spirit of June 12. He stood with millions of Nigerians in the struggle for democracy and continues to uphold those values through inclusive governance, transparency and policies that place the welfare of citizens at the centre of government activities,” Ahmed said.
The Kaduna Roads Agency boss emphasized that the governor has consistently demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that government remains responsive to the needs of the people, particularly through policies aimed at promoting social inclusion, economic growth and infrastructure development.
Ahmed highlighted the governor’s achievements in the area of infrastructure, especially road construction and rehabilitation projects across the state, describing them as practical examples of democratic dividends reaching communities that had previously been neglected.
