Today, Saturday, June 6, MTN Nigeria is taking an unprecedented step towards answering that question through Data on Trial – a first-of-its-kind public engagement designed to openly examine customer concerns about data consumption.

Rather than relying on conventional explanations, we are creating a platform where customers, industry experts, device manufacturers, and MTN representatives can engage in a transparent conversation about how data is used in today’s digital environment.

Using a courtroom-inspired format, customers will have the opportunity to raise concerns, ask questions, and challenge assumptions, while MTN’s technical and business teams present evidence, demonstrations, and explanations on how data is consumed across networks, devices, applications, and operating systems.

The event will also feature participation from independent stakeholders and device manufacturers, helping to provide broader perspectives on the factors that influence data consumption. To further strengthen transparency and credibility, the process will be independently observed and validated by KPMG.

At its core, Data on Trial is not about proving anyone right or wrong. It is about improving understanding, encouraging informed conversations, and building greater confidence in how digital services are used and experienced.

At MTN our customers are at the heart of everything we do and this initiative reflects our willingness to listen, engage openly, and address concerns in a meaningful way.

We invite you to be a part of this landmark engagement and witness firsthand one of the most open and transparent conversations ever undertaken by our organisation. You can attend physically or join via the live broadcast; your participation will help reinforce our shared commitment to customer centricity, transparency, and service excellence.
