The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has issued an urgent warning to the public, advising citizens to completely ignore viral documents circulating on social media that detail fake recruitment screening schedules. ​
In a statement released to address the spreading misinformation, the NCS management categorically distanced itself from the fraudulent timelines, reiterating that the documents are the handiwork of scammers looking to exploit unsuspecting job seekers. ​
The Customs Service emphasized that it has not released any such screening schedules and warned that relying on unverified information could leave applicants vulnerable to fraud. ​”Official updates regarding our recruitment processes are exclusively broadcast through verified Nigeria Customs Service channels and national dailies,” the statement read.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant and cross-check any information directly with our official platforms.” ​The NCS further clarified a critical point regarding its hiring policy: the recruitment process is entirely free.
The agency stated that it does not charge applicants at any stage of the recruitment exercise, whether for forms, processing, or screening. Members of the public are strongly advised to report any individuals demanding external fees or financial inducements in exchange for job placement. ​
To avoid falling victim to employment syndicates, applicants are urged to note that only trust information published on the official NCS website or their verified social media handles.
The NCS will never request money, airtime, or data bundles for job slots and urged Nigerians to flag any social media accounts, WhatsApp groups, or individuals claiming to represent Customs recruitment officers for a fee.
​Investigation into the source of the fake documents is currently underway, and the NCS has vowed to work with law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to book.
