As the fallout from the weekend’s primary elections begins to crystallize. With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, the results from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) are already triggering significant movement across the board.

Early collation results indicate a strong showing for the incumbent leadership. President Tinubu has reportedly secured significant victories in key states like Jigawa, Benue, and Abia. He is expected to officially receive the party’s certificate of return and flag shortly.
The primaries have been brutal for incumbents. Reports suggest up to 70 National Assembly members have lost their return tickets.
Heavyweights like Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Hope Uzodimma (Imo) have secured wins, while others like Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North) and Yahaya Bello (Kogi Central) won by landslides.
