Innocent Idibia, the Nigerian artist known as 2Baba, recently met with Chris Musa, the minister of defense, to introduce a new initiative aimed at young people.
The meeting, shared in an Instagram post on Saturday, focused on a culture-driven program that uses music to help guide young people and encourage social change.
The singer said he and his team explained to the minister that the initiative aims to counter violent messages among young Nigerians by promoting positive values through entertainment.
“I had the honour of meeting with Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Defence, General CG Musa, alongside my strategic team to explore how music can help counter violent narratives among young Nigerians,” he wrote.
“During the meeting, I unveiled a culture-driven initiative that uses music as a tool for youth reorientation, promoting positive values and transforming entertainment into a force for social impact.”
He stressed that the project aims to spark dialogue, empower creative talent, and redirect the energy of Nigeria’s massive youth population toward nation-building.
“With over 150 million young people in Nigeria and many vulnerable to negative influences, initiatives like this are important to spark meaningful conversations, empower creative talent, and channel youth energy toward nation-building,” he added.
While details about the initiative’s operational status and official name were not disclosed, the singer’s engagement reflects his ongoing commitment to youth advocacy.
