The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has moved to debunk claims of an ongoing recruitment exercise after a statement announcing the exercise surfaced online, raising false hopes among job seekers.
In a clarification issued on Wednesday, the agency said the widely circulated press release did not emanate from NAFDAC and should be treated as a scam. The Director General of the agency, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, cautioned Nigerians to be vigilant and avoid engaging with individuals or platforms promoting the purported recruitment.
Adeyeye explained that although NAFDAC, like other government agencies, periodically recruits qualified Nigerians when the need arises, such exercises are always communicated through official channels. She stressed that the document currently being shared on social media is entirely fake, including its content and claims.
According to her, fraudsters often exploit the desperation of job seekers by circulating false recruitment notices, sometimes demanding money or personal information. She urged members of the public to verify information directly from NAFDAC’s official website and recognised communication platforms before taking any action.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, noting that any legitimate recruitment exercise would be properly announced and widely publicised through credible and verifiable means.
