Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that candidates backed by his Rainbow Coalition—a group comprising members from various political parties in Rivers State—are poised to win all elective positions in the state in 2027.
The Rainbow Coalition operates under the Renewed Hope Family, an initiative launched by Wike to consolidate support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in Rivers State. The movement effectively brought together politicians from different parties under one umbrella.
According to Wike, Rivers politicians have transcended party lines to unite under the Renewed Hope Family for the benefit of the state.
“After Tinubu, the Rainbow Coalition will produce every elective position in Rivers State in 2027. So, if you don’t belong to this rainbow family, forget it,” he declared.
Highlighting the benefits Rivers residents have enjoyed for supporting Tinubu in 2023, Wike assured that “this year will be better than last year.” He also thanked the people for their loyalty and commended community leaders for their continued support, noting that the risks they took in 2023 are now yielding positive results.
“Continue on this path, and you will keep reaping rewards. I assure you that I will stand with you at the appropriate time,” Wike said.
Earlier, Asari Toru LGA Chairman, Onengiyeofori George, expressed gratitude to Wike for his contributions to the council and reaffirmed the people’s unity under the Renewed Hope Family.
Similarly, Chief Michael West, representing Asari Toru Constituency II in the State Assembly, praised Wike for rallying support for Tinubu and described him as a “good leader.” West noted that Wike made it possible for an Ijaw man to become governor in the state—the first since Nigeria’s return to democracy—and pledged the continued backing of the people.
