The Forum of South West Chairmen of the Accord Party says it is confident that Osun Gov. Ademola Adeleke will win re-election in 2026.
Its Spokesperson and Chairman of Accord in Ogun, Mr Rotimi Oke, expressed this in in Lagos.
He attributed the forum’s confidence to Adeleke’s performance in office, public acceptance, effective mobilisation and growing unity within the Accord Party across the South West.
He said Adeleke’s leadership had delivered tangible benefits, meeting the needs and expectations of residents.
“If a leader is good, even his critics cannot overlook his genuineness and sincerity in governance,” Oke said.
He said Adeleke’s administration is built on service and performance, adding that the governor is not given to deceit or political manipulation.
Oke recalled that the governor, after securing his party’s ticket on Dec. 10, outlined key accomplishments of his administration.
Listing some of the achievements, he said Osun’s ranking in national examination performance improved from 33rd under the immediate past administration to seventh under Adeleke.
According to him, improvement in education standard under the governor is widely acknowledged, even by the opposition.
He also said the state’s infrastructure deficit dropped from over 80 per cent in 2022 to about 40 per cent in 2025.
Oke said Adeleke’s administration had also paid over 40 per cent of inherited state debt.
He said the Debt Management Office had confirmed the state’s significant debt reduction.
Oke added Adeleke had repositioned the health sector, with the state emerging top in the South West in access to primary healthcare services.
He described the feat as evidence of people-oriented governance.
Oke cited spontaneous public support after Accord’s primary election as proof of mass acceptance.
He said Accord leaders and supporters embarked on an unplanned procession through Osogbo recently and that residents trooped out, chanting slogans in support of Adeleke and Accord.
He said with public support being enjoyed by the governor and his performance, Adeleke would defeat other candidates to win in 2026.
