The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), the umbrella body of editors across print, broadcast, online, and news agency platforms, has announced a change in the date for its flagship annual event — the All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) 2025. Originally scheduled to hold earlier, the conference will now take place from November 12 to 13, 2025, according to a statement issued by the Guild’s General Secretary on Friday. The NGE described the shift as a result of “logistical adjustments aimed at ensuring the successful hosting of the event,” which brings together top editors, media executives, policymakers, and stakeholders in governance and development.
The annual conference, regarded as the largest gathering of Nigerian editors, provides a platform for critical national dialogue on issues affecting journalism, press freedom, and the country’s socio-economic and political development. The statement noted that the 2025 edition would maintain its tradition of robust panel discussions, keynote addresses, and strategy sessions focused on strengthening ethical journalism, combating misinformation, and repositioning the media for digital transformation. It further assured members and invited participants that all preparations were on course and that details on the theme, speakers, and venue would be unveiled in the coming weeks.
