Anambra: YPP guber candidate pledges to install CCTV in all LGAs

Mr Paul Chukwuma, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate in the Nov. 8 governorship election in Anambra has promised to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) in the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State.

Chukwuma said the measure, among others, would be adopted to tackle insecurity in the state within his first three month in office.

He said on Tuesday, during an interaction with academics in the state.

“As the governor of Anambra the 21 LGAs in the state will be installed with CCTV cameras and other modern technologies to tackle insecurity.

“Communities, streets, houses and family names must be identified under my leadership to help tackle insecurity,” he said.

According to him, each LGA would have a data base to help tackle insecurity under my watch.

The YPP governorship candidate said that under his watch security committees would be set up in each community to cater for its security needs.

“We need to do security mapping of each community.

‘We will make sure that as the Federal Government disbursed the security fund.

“We will apply it to solve the security challenges of the community as identified by their committee,” he said.

He promised to embrace community policing to tackle insecurity if elected.

Chukwuma also pledged to prioritise the education sector by enhancing teachers welfare, providing instructional material and making learning environment conducive.

“Under my watch as the governor of Anambra, I will change the fortunes of our teachers by providing teachers quarter.

“I will prioritise the welfare of our teachers so that they can build our tomorrow’s children,” he said.

He said that if elected as governor, he would collaborate with the Federal Government to construct a seaport at Ihiala LGA of the state.

According to him, his administration  will use the seaport to create jobs for the teeming youth and boost the economy of the state and the country at large.

The YPP candidate said that if elected, his administration would create an opportunity for people to earn money by disposing their waste properly to keep the environment safe.

Anambra has faced sever security challenges in recent times.

This prompted the state government to inaugurate two security outfits named operations “Udogachi and Agunechemba to help the police and other security agencies deal with the situation.
