The Ogun State Government, under Governor Dapo Abiodun, has secured approval from the Federal Government to establish the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port along the Epe/Mojoda Expressway, with the state allocating 130 hectares of land for the project following a request from the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on June 26, 2025. Governor Abiodun described the port, alongside the Gateway International Airport, as a critical enabler of industrialization, stating it will transform Ogun into a “logistics and economic powerhouse,” boosting trade, decongesting Lagos ports, and creating jobs, as announced on August 29, 2025. The project, approved by President Bola Tinubu in January 2025, will connect to the Lekki Deep Sea Port via rail and support Ogun’s industrial hub initiative, with completion expected to enhance regional competitiveness and national GDP.
