The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives has thrown its weight behind the resolutions reached by the party’s leadership as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

In a communiqué issued after a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Monday, the caucus said it fully aligns with the decisions of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and pledged to work collectively to ensure the PDP reclaims power at both the federal and state levels.

Minority Leader of the House, Kingsley Chinda, who briefed journalists after the meeting, said the lawmakers are committed to defending the party’s interests and promoting unity among its members ahead of the polls.

“We stand solidly with the PDP leadership on the resolutions adopted for the 2027 elections. The caucus has resolved to intensify grassroots mobilisation, strengthen internal democracy, and work in synergy with all organs of the party to guarantee victory,” Chinda stated.

He stressed that the lawmakers will embark on nationwide consultations with stakeholders, including state chapters, to deepen the party’s support base and ensure that candidates emerge through transparent and credible processes.

The caucus also urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring that the PDP is determined to present a credible alternative that will address the country’s economic and security challenges.

“The PDP has always been a people-oriented party, and as representatives of the people, we will continue to stand with Nigerians in their quest for good governance,” the communiqué added.

The caucus further called on the Federal Government to prioritise policies that would cushion the effects of the current economic hardship, while reaffirming its readiness to hold the administration accountable in the interest of citizens.
