Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has urged the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members to embrace innovation and lead with vision as they conclude their mandatory one-year national service, as stated during a passing-out ceremony on August 7, 2025. Addressing thousands of corps members nationwide, Nafiu commended their contributions to community development, primary assignments, and nation-building projects, emphasizing that their discipline and resilience position them to drive positive change in Nigeria. “Be open to change, lead with confidence and innovative ideas,” he said, encouraging them to represent NYSC as proud ambassadors.

The call aligns with Nafiu’s ongoing push for corps members to leverage the NYSC’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, noting that predecessors who embraced it have established thriving businesses, as highlighted during his May 2025 visits to Benue and Nasarawa orientation camps. The 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II, comprising graduates under 30 years old, served across Nigeria’s 36 states, contributing to sectors like education, health, and infrastructure, with a monthly stipend of N77,000 based on the new national minimum wage.
