The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. local time, with the aircraft skidding onto soft grass but remaining undamaged, according to the airline.
In a statement, spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe reassured travelers: “All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported. We reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations”. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) later warned of potential flight delays as a result of the excursion but confirmed that the evacuation of 127 passengers was completed without incident.
