…… advocates unity among members
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC Dr Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje, has urged all aspirants in the party to close ranks in preparation for the general election.
He made the call while presenting the certificate of return to Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu, winner of the just concluded APC primary election for the Ananmbra state governorship election.
Dr. Ganduje also commended the committee for conducting a fair and transparent process.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Mr Ukachukwu, praised President Bola Tinubu for upholding democratic values of free, fair process.
He stated that his victory in the party’s primary election was the outcome of a deliberate engagement with party members across wards and local government areas who desired a leader with both vision and capacity to win the November 8 poll.
“This is not about imposition. This is not godfather politics. I went to the people, the real party men and women on the ground. They looked me in the eye and asked if I truly wanted to deliver Anambra State. When I told them yes, they said, ‘We are running with you.’ These are councillors, LG chairmen, commissioners and board members — that is the kind of trust I earned,”
The APC candidate promised if elected, to compliment federal government efforts in tackling insecurity, youths unemployment and bring economic prosperity to Anambra state.
Ukachukwu concluded by extending an olive branch to his fellow aspirants, calling on them to rally behind him for the party’s success at the polls.
