The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Monday demonstrated its unwavering commitment to ensuring road safety and free traffic flow by quickly restoring order on the ‘problematic’ Otedola bridge shortly after a lone accident.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a lone Mark Truck (Registration No: AGL 140 YE) carrying a container fell at Otedola Bridge, outward Lagos along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing a traffic build-up, according to FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander, Mr Kehinde Hamzat, in a statement.
Hamzat said the FRSC personnel promptly swung into action to manage the situation and restored order.
“The incident, which occurred around 1920 hours on Monday – yesterday, January 6 – resulted in heavy but moving traffic along the route.
“Thankfully, no injuries were recorded. FRSC officers, in collaboration with other sister agencies, are working tirelessly to clear the obstruction and ease traffic for commuters,” he said.
Hamzat highlighted the critical importance of regular vehicle maintenance and urged companies to adopt the Safe-To-Load programme to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
“Motorists are advised to exercise patience, adhere to traffic instructions, and remain cautious while driving through the area.
“The FRSC assures the public that every effort is being made to resolve the situation swiftly and efficiently.
