The Senate has postponed the screening of the newly nominated ministers presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The announcement was made in a press statement by Senator Basheer Lado, the President’s Special Adviser on Senate Matters, released to the press on Tuesday.
“The scheduled screening of ministerial nominees has been postponed by the Senate,” Senator Lado stated. “This delay is to allow all nominees to complete necessary documentation and pre-screening processes. The screening is now scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM.”
President Tinubu nominated seven new ministers in a recent cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024, aiming to improve government efficiency amid economic challenges. The new nominees include Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Nentawe Yilwatda, Khalil Halilu and Osayi Izedonmwen, among others.
