Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has declared that the President will secure a significantly wider margin of victory over his opponents in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during a televised interview on Channels Television’s flagship political program, Politics Today, aired on the evening of Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Bwala expressed firm confidence in President Tinubu’s electoral prospects despite current economic realities.

”Let me say it categorically: the margin that President Tinubu will give each and every one of these candidates will be so much that you won’t believe it,” Bwala stated during the broadcast.

Defending his assessment, Bwala pointed to the expanding political coalition supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the steady influx of state governors into the President’s camp since the 2023 general elections.

”How many governors have joined him since then?” Bwala questioned. “Governors are Chief Executive Officers of their respective states; they coordinate state political structures and won their own elections.

All the governors that worked with the opposition in 2023 are not going to be where they were, particularly in regions like the North-East where we have recovered significant political ground.”

Bwala highlighted that during the 2023 election, President Tinubu faced severe political headwinds, including contentious pre-election policies and internal party friction, yet still emerged victorious. He argued that with an expanded base and solidified control over key regional structures, the 2027 outcome would yield a far decisive lead for the incumbent.

The presidential spokesman also cited fragmentation within major opposition parties as a major factor that will clear the path for Tinubu’s re-election. Addressing former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi’s standing, Bwala asserted that the opposition candidate has lost significant organizational momentum since 2023.

”Peter Obi has lost over 75 percent of the critical people who carried his campaign in 2023,” Bwala claimed. “They have dispersed, some back to the PDP, others elsewhere. What remains in the opposition camp is a defeated attitude.”

Addressing public concerns over the economic fallout of the administration’s policies, Bwala acknowledged that structural reforms had caused temporary hardships, but maintained that the long-term benefits were beginning to manifest.

”Yes, poverty increased as an immediate consequence of necessary reforms, but we have made genuine progress, and the recovery trajectory is clear,” Bwala remarked, emphasizing that the administration’s focus remains on delivering sustainable economic growth before the nation returns to the polls in 2027.
