The national leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under National Chairman Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, has officially disowned any involvement in an alliance, merger, or coalition with the G100 Coalition or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party made its position clear in an official press statement issued on Friday, October 16, 2026, from the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja. Speaking on behalf of the party hierarchy, Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe warned political figures and coalition groups against using the ADC’s identity or platform for unauthorised political arrangements.
Addressing recent reports linking opposition leadership to joint alignment talks, the ADC clarified that it has neither signed an agreement nor participated in negotiations to form a joint political platform with the G100 Coalition or opposition movements linked to Atiku Abubakar.
”The African Democratic Congress (ADC) remains focused, united, and resolute in its mission to rescue Nigeria and provide credible leadership in 2027,” Gombe stated in the release. “We reiterate that our party will not be coerced, manipulated, or railroaded into any unholy alliance that negates the interest of our legacy members and the Nigerian people.”
Gombe further cautioned against politicians looking for quick leverage on external party structures:
”Our doors remain open to genuine patriots who believe in our ideology, but not to serial losers seeking a platform of convenience,” he added. “We call on all our members across the country, as well as the general public, to disregard any publication or insinuation linking the ADC to Atiku Abubakar or the so-called G100 Coalition.”
The ADC leadership emphasized that it is fully prepared to field its own candidates independently across all elective positions in 2027. The ADC will determine its political alliances and presidential candidacy internally through its own constitutional processes.
The leadership maintained that any external groupings or factions claiming to negotiate on behalf of the party lack the authorisation or legal standing to represent the ADC.
The party reiterated its determination to contest and win elective seats at all levels without compromising its core principles.
